CreateSpace Workshops

CreateSpace, a combined arts project supporting adults to create space for the arts in their everyday lives. Artists are working in seven community venues across the Black Country and Staffordshire, inspiring participants to take ideas from sessions and find time to expand and develop them. The hope is that the increased creative activity will help to maintain and improve their wellbeing. Review and Reflection

The brief created by Walsall Public Health stated that the resources should be co-produced by children. We have taken the key principles underpinning co–production as described by the New Economics Foundation and Action for Children  to reflect on how the Team developed and created the Love your Feelings resources. The Arts Idea

Jim Morris and Kim Fuller devised the idea of creating ‘beings’ to use in workshops with children. ‘Beings’ were made from a small number of simple geometric shapes, taking the form of anything a child imagined. Each child used their ‘being’ to play the art games, not themselves, allowing them the freedom to explore feelings freely in the third person. To read more about The Arts Idea click here
