Creative Health have been working with Dudley Council for Voluntary Service’s for their HIU (High Intensity User) Social Prescribing Project to develop a new weekly creative arts club for adults.
Dudley Council for Voluntary Service commissioned the arts programme for their HIU (High Intensity User) Social Prescribing Project, funded by Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group and the Department of Health.
Following on from the successful Dudley Take Five programme with children and young people, Creative Health developed the concept, adapted it for an adult audience and created the arts club.
We developed a weekly club for service users where they could enjoy drama, creative writing and visual arts to explore the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
The weekly club was limited to a small number of people who had said they felt more comfortable in a ‘cosy’ environment. Together they worked with artists to explore the Five Ways, ultimately producing a beautiful sand animation with accompanying poetry explaining how to make the most of wellbeing guidance.

In the second year of funding there will be two clubs – a larger ‘community’ club for those wanting to make new friends at the same time as trying new arts activities, alongside the continuation of the ‘cosy’ club.
